The University of Texas-Pan American women's basketball head coach DeAnn Craft welcomed Jasmine Gordon as one of the team's newest members for the 2009-10 campaign.

"She's the perfect fit for us," said Craft, who is in her sixth year at the helm of the Lady Broncs. "She's a tremendous person of character. I like her athleticism, her ability to put the ball on the floor and she can get to the rim, plus she has extended range."

Craft also said when Gordon was evaluated in the summer, Craft liked her versatility and knew Gordon was going to be utilized perfectly in the Lady Broncs five out motion offense.

Gordon who signed her National Letter of Intent on Nov. 19 comes from Durate/Pasadena where she lettered four years at Monrona High School and received the 07-08 Team MVP, was the Pasadena Star News Athlete of the week and was the team captain for the 08-09 campaign. In the 07-08 season she averaged 20 ppg.

"I'm really excited and I'm glad the team is welcoming," said Gordon. "The coaches seem so nice and they made me feel like it was the place for me."
